We live in an Intelligent Universe
The energy of which is everything is made, the universal energy, is not blank. It carries information. What is more, every energy field responds to the information it carries, as well as to information received from other energy fields.
Every part of our bodies has its own energy field, and hence, its own kind of intelligence. It is this cooperation of many different intelligences that allows the body to naturally adjust itself to internal and external changes, renew and rejuvenate itself, and to respond to our healing thought and therapies. Each cell, organ, gland and bone in the body carries out these tasks daily without any assistance from us. All we have to do is to help create the conditions in which the body can function properly…or not upset the natural order as we have been doing for hundreds of years.
Because the energy fields of the body and other living things are made of the same energy as our thoughts, and that energy is intelligent, the energy fields of living things, especially our own bodies, responds to our thoughts.
In other words, we live in, and are in continuous interaction with a conscious universe.
This astounding self-managing, self-directing potential and self-adjusting potential exists in everything, from the smallest particle or the simplest 1-celled creature to the universe itself. We can call it the ‘power of nature’, the ‘dao’, Gaia consciousness or God. Whatever we call it, and however we choose to perceive it, this power is fundamental to the existence and continuation of life as we know it.
The Universe Remembers
Once we accept that our energy fields and all energy fields interact with, and influence each other, it seems to be a small yet profound leap to the idea of a universal memory. This concept has emerged in the new science as the ‘morphic field’, a field containing the memories of atoms, cells and organs of all living things. This field is continually evolving and exists everywhere equally. Others have taken this concept even further to propose that the morphic field is universal, that it contains within it all the information contained with every other energy field. Because it exists everywhere equally, this universal memory is accessible to, and influences every kind of development, from biological growth and processes to social forms to our most exalted spiritual experiences.
This is essentially what ancient teachings describe as the Akashic memory, the record of everything ever remembered, existing in dimensions beyond time and space, yet accessible to every psyche. If our bodies, minds and experiences are indeed the result of continuous interactions with other energy fields and a universal consciousness, then despite our unique individualities, we are well and truly one consciousness.
While this idea is ancient, it is only in the last hundred years of so that it has been scientifically tested and demonstrated. Even then, it is still mind boggling.
